The wires for the loop, left over from the days when it part of the 9, still remain. Later the short turns were moved to the Lowell loop further south. For a while a short turn of route 14 trolleys turned at the Leese St. Streetcars began running on the Daly City branch on San Jose to Geneva St. In 1983 the 24 Divisadero started run along 30th St. branch was probably discontinued in 1939. Thus only the Valencia segment of the old MSR 9 never saw revenue service trolleys. when the 24 Divisadero was converted to trolleys on the 24th of August 1983. Trolleybuses began to run on Cortland St. The Cortland branch was discontinued in 1946. Route 9 bore the route name Richland when the trolleys took over.The 9 Richland was discontinued in August of 1983 when the there was a major restructuring of the Mission St. The trolleys went downtown via Mission St. Streetcar service ended a year before in 1949. It was this branch of the line was converted to trolleybuses on the 18th of March 1950. One branch went to and along 29th St., another went to Daly City via San Jose St., a third branch went Cortland and Folsom St., and the fourth to Richland and Andover Sts. There were four branch lines of the 9 in 1939. It will proceed onto 30th St., back up, and go forward tuning onto Church St. Loop displaying Brussels destination sign "92 Esplanade".
